Obituary for James S. Parsons

James S. Parsons, age 83, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2015. He was born June 7, 1932 in Saunemin, Illinois. He dedicated his life to his family and was a devoted member of Church of the Messiah United Methodist Church. Jim was a member of the “Alum Creakers Society” and a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne Parsons; children, Jamie (Stan) Weaver, Julie (Jim) Mentzer, and Jim (Martha) Parsons; 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Franciska Parsons; three brothers, and one sister. Family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State Street, Westerville, OH. Additional visitation on Thursday from 11-12 with funeral service at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Church of the Messiah United Methodist Church.
