Erin Hard-Macioce 1980-2023

Erin Hard-Macioce

05/06/1980 - 11/27/2023

Erin peacefully passed surrounded by family the evening of November 27, 2023, in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Erin was born on May 6, 1980, at Ohio State University Hospital to Wanza Sue and John Hard. She Attended St Paul the Apostle Grade School in Westerville, Ohio and graduated from St Francis DeSales High School. Erin loved music and played in the marching and concert bands at DeSales.

Erin married Andy Macioce of Circleville, Ohio and together they had two children, Preston Dean Macioce (age 19) and Donovin Valerio Macioce (age 17) both attended Bishop Ready High School where they excelled in the sport of Baseball as well as academics. Erin was very supportive of their passion for the game and spent most weekends as a “Baseball Mom” as they grew up. They are her “Pride & Joy”!

Erin was an avid animal lover and was always willing to bring in a stray or rescue pet. She loved all of God’s creatures. Always bright and cheerful, she sought to find the best in everything. She had many friends and treasured each and every one of them. Whenever we traveled with her as a child the first thing, she would do was seek a new friend.  Her love of music took her to many concerts highlighted by a trip to Chicago to see her favorite “The Rolling Stones” with dear friend Dan LaVerse, lead guitarist for a regional band “Distorted Silence. Erin was instrumental in the startup and growth of CaJohns Fiery Foods, the family business that grew to national prominence in the Specialty Foods Industry. Erin served as manager of CaJohns Flavor & Fire store in the Historic North Market in Downtown Columbus.

She was preceded in passing by her Paternal Grandparents Harold & Marguerite Hard of Minerva Park, Ohio, and Maternal Grandparents Charles & Jewel Dennison of Saucier, Mississippi. Uncles Bill & Tom Hard, and Jimmy Dennison. She is survived by her parents John & Sue Hard of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Sister Julie Caulkins (Curt) of Johnstown, Ohio, Brother Nathan Hard (Merissa Cedar) of Candler, North Carolina.
