Friends may call 5 to 7 PM Tuesday at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State st., Westerville. Private burial will be Wednesday, May 27 at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Our love and prayers go out to Terry, David, Bonnie and the entire family. We feel so blessed to have been in John's life and to have him in ours. He certainly brightened our days and he will be missed dearly! I know he is happy and so is Mary Ellen! Love you all! The Forrest Family

John H. Hayman, age 100, a life long resident of Westerville, OH, passed away May 20, 2015 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital surrounded by family and a very caring group of nurses. John was pre-deceased by his parents Blanche and Charles Hayman; his wife of 51 years Mary Ellen (Sexton); his brother Charles (Irene) and sister Mary Alice (Ralph) Kerst. He is survived by son Terry; nephew David (Bonnie) Kerst; great niece Karin Rezes and great nephew Douglas (Lynn) Kerst; great-great nieces Marissa and Jenna Rezes and good friends, the Forest family. John graduated from Westerville High School in 1933 and served during WW II in the Army Air Corps flying over the “Hump” in the China-Burma-India Theater of operations. He has attended many CBI reunions over the years. He was a very productive member of the “Greatest Generation” working at the Kilgore Mfg. Co. Selling J.I. Case machinery, and retired from the Westerville Post Office. He was a member of the Church of the Messiah, Blendon Lodge #339, and the “Old Buzzards Club.” Friends may call 5 to 7 PM Tuesday at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State st., Westerville.
