Bruce Alan Roy Obituary - Hill Funeral Home

Arrangements

Family will receive friends Noon to 1 PM, Friday, July 21, 2023 at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State St. followed by services at 1 PM Friday. Interment Fancher Cemetery.

Dear Sue: I was totally shocked when I read in the Dec 10 23 Dispatch that Bruce had passed away! I had no idea he may have been sick? Or was it unexpected? I hope you and your family are fairing well or as good as can be expected. I have thought of you both many times in the past years and, yes, miss you. You remember Aunt Nellie? She passed away a year ago this month and was six months shy of turning 100!!! Cindy is still in Florida and they have had their health issues this year, however I know she would want to know this so I shall share it with her. In the past four years I have lost both of my precious brothers, Bill and Andy. I miss them greatly. If you are ever in town and would like to have lunch or whatever, feel free to contact me at home at 882-0763. Please know I sincerely care and miss you. Love Pat

Patricia Salyer

Born to Greg and Edna Roy, Bruce was a lifelong resident of Westerville. He worked in the floral industry for over 35 years, owning Ole Barn Flowers for part of those years.  He then helped run the Ohio State Grange Office (being “First Dude”) with his wife Sue being the State Master. He was a prolific Fine Scale Model Builder for over 55 years, enjoying gathering with his friends over pizza and building models. Bruce was always willing to help anyone with any task, big or small. He had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed jokes and the occasional prank. He will be remembered as a loving Husband, Father, Son, Brother and Friend. The Family wishes to Thank the EMTs and Staff at St. Anns Hospital for their efforts to save him, and the compassion shone to us by these groups. Donations can be made to Knox County Granges or the charity of your choice.

Arrangements are to be handled by Hill F.H., Westerville, Ohio.
