Condolences

Condolence From: Sandra Hudson, Westerville, Ohio
Condolence: We met Gene in a Bible study class at Church of the Messiah. He was a very caring and loving man who loved to share himself and his knowledge with others. Gene and his wife B were dear friends who volunteered freely at Messiah and other endeavors. He never lost his zest for life and even this year wanted to go back on mission trips in Cuba and Nicaragua. I will miss him and treasure the times my husband Mike and I baked cookies in the church kitchen for Kairos prison ministry.

Condolence From: Sandy Sayre, Columbus, OH
Condolence: I met Gene in December 2017 at
The Westerville Senior Center playing euchre. He was a very kind man with a beautiful smile and laugh. He was an excellent card player and you knew he enjoyed the game and the people. He will be missed dearly but will never be forgotten.
My condolences and prayers to his family.

Condolence From: Randy Roys, Columbus, OH
Condolence: Gene was a humble servant and a friend to all whom he met. Serving with him on the state committee with Kairos of Ohio he exhibited the quiet humble servant's heart in leading the prayer ministry as well as serving on weekend teams. His passion and gentleness of spirit demonstrated in a quiet testimony his deep caring for the ministry and all of us fortunate enough to serve with him. He will be missed for the many ways he always strived first to listen, listen and love, love with everyone he encountered as a faithful servant of Jesus Christ.

Condolence: Gene was one of the finest people I have ever known. Our paths crossed in choir, Disciple Bible study, euchre and mission trip to Nicaragua. I will never forget his kindness to me. When my Dad passed away in February, 7 years ago, he braved (along with Lindsay Smith) an hour and a half trip in some really awful weather to attend the funeral. He offered to be my honorary dad. He encouraged me through some tough times. I looked forward to our coffee get togethers at Tim Hortons. I am so blessed to have had him for a friend. He was filled with love , wisdom and kindness. My deepest condolences to the family of this extraordinary man of God.

Condolence From: Linda Schmidt, Columbus, OH
Condolence: Gene was a special child of God and admired by everyone whose path he touched. He had a strong faith and shared that not only in words, but works. Messiah has lost a true leader, but will be remembered.
