Obituary for Marilyn Jean Smith

Marilyn Jean Smith, 82, passed away peacefully December 14, 2022.

Marilyn was a shining ray of love and light, known for her warmth, generous spirit, and amazing smile.She was inspiring, authentic, encouraging, and optimistic! She had a phenomenal attitude, despite any challenges she faced.

Beautiful in every way! Caring, loyal, funny, loved to laugh, and often “got the giggles” with those she loved! It was contagious! Marilyn enjoyed simple pleasures.Sincere and dependable, she was genuinely interested in others. She went out of her way to help and encourage everyone. She was a great listener and was always concerned with others’ comfort and happiness. She was a compassionate, stabilizing force for many. She gave of herself and her time in service to others. She SHOWED UP for people! 

Marilyn was a shining example of God’s love who relied deeply on her relationship with Jesus. She shared God’s love with everyone she met. Her life reflected her beliefs and faith.

Marilyn was uplifting! She was often seen around town with her “LUV ALL” license plate, spreading happiness everywhere she went.

She adored her family and was so proud of every one of them. She was a deeply loving wife of 31 years. She was a passionately involved mother and grandma! Her grandchildren often described her as unconditionally loving, caring, generous, warm, silly, ornery, and always supportive.

Marilyn was fortunate to find love again after being widowed. They enjoyed companionship, dinner, dancing, movies, and travel for over 30 years.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter Cheri Green and son Todd R. (Jane McCoy) Smith; Grandsons Adam, Austin Green and Tucker R. McCoy-Smith; Granddaughters Nicole Green and Olivia J. Smith; and sisters Carol Alfred and Kay Richley; her devoted friend of over 30 years William "Bill" Reau and many neices and nephews. She joins in death her parents Lloyd and Helen Kruckeberg and her husband Richard "Dick" P. Smith

She was a joy and a blessing as a friend! Her friendships lasted for decades, not days. Some have lasted over 60 years. If you were having a bad day, you could count on her to send an uplifting card. She was a strong woman who marched through life with purpose, prayer, patience, and grace!

Marilyn touched the lives of so many people. She will be deeply missed.
