Obituary for Donald G. McLain

Donald G. McLain 1963-2022

Donald G. McLain

03/01/1963 - 09/27/2022

Donald G. McLain passed away September 27, 2022. Donald “Don/Donny” was born March 1, 1963 in Columbus, Oh, and who was adopted by Kenneth & Annette McLain. Donald grew up in Columbus, Oh, where he attended Walnut Ridge High school. He later graduated from Industrial Electronics at Northeast Career Center.

Donald was an extremely creative person. With an innovative spirit, he was able to position himself in places where he was able to truly express his creativity. For a period of time, he worked at The Frame Station, where he designed and built picture frames. However, his true passion flourished when he began working in construction. He worked for major construction companies, as well as general contractors. Although, he had projects for both residential and commercial areas, his joy and specialty resided in residential construction. He was particularly gifted in his field, due to the fact that he had such an eye for detail. Donald thoroughly enjoyed the design aspect of building and framing houses, especially the personalization factor. Donald would go on to owning his own construction company, McLain Construction, for over twenty years.

In 1988, Donald met Nicole Martin (his former wife) in Millersport, Ohio. They would go on to have two children during their union, Nicolas and Lucas McLain. Donald cherished the relationship he had created with sons and dog Maze very much.

He survived by oldest son Nicolas McLain, daughter in-law Angela McLain, youngest son Lucas McLain, mother Annette McLain, and his sisters Samantha McLain and Donna Hamm.
