Tim saved my life. I’ve known and been friends with Tim for 40+ years. He became my salesman when I started Quaker Homes. Selling everything we could produce. I joined his poker games and he joined my poker games, held monthly, for the past 10 years. He usually won. Tim worked with my wife at Sandusky Street Antiques, every Thursday, as a buyer of gold, silver, and jewelry. Janet would typically leave Tim and I to close the store the last open hour, and Tim and I would routinely spend that last hour entertaining customers and swapping stories well past closing time. I loved the comradeship The day Covid hit I lost my mind, and spent the next 8 months in severe mental distress. I mostly avoided everyone as my anxiety and depression increased. I also lost the ability to play my favorite sport, golf, when I tore my rotator cuff in my left shoulder. As I gradually healed, both mental and physical, I could not avoid Tim. He was there to help boast me up. He brought me into his standing golf game with my now good friend Don, and I have never looked back. Tim, Don, other friends & I enjoyed countless good and bad golf rounds this past 1.5 years. I can’t begin to explain Tim’s contribution to my overall mental health and thus my return to a great life. Thank you Tim for everything you are to me, your family, and everyone you met.

Obituary for Tim Jacobs

Tim Jacobs 1956-2022

Tim Jacobs

03/09/1956 - 06/19/2022

Tim Jacobs, 66, beloved husband, father, friend, son, brother/brother-in-law and uncle passed away on June 19th, 2022 after a short unexpected illness.

Tim was born in Marion, IN to Durand and Lenore Jacobs. He graduated from Brecksville  High School in the Cleveland area and attended Michigan State University. He moved to Gahanna in 1980 and adored this community.

Tim's loving wife, Peggy (née Horne), beloved daughter Jessica and son, James; his mother Lenore (Durand) Jacobs, sister Beth (Steve) Gillispie, extended family, neighbors and friends mourn his loss.

Tim was a respected salesman, an advocate for individuals with disabilities and an active member of the antiquing community. He loved the water, the Cleveland Guardians (Indians), Buckeye football, adventures with friends and family, card games, golf and understanding the histories of old objects which made antique hunting  one of his lifelong adventures. In addition to running his own small business, Tim worked for HER Realty, Quaker Homes, Dominion Homes and CV Perry. He was a certified care provider for handicapped individuals for Franklin County.  Shortly before his passing, Tim celebrated with Peggy their 42nd wedding anniversary.  His love of stories, his kindness and caring, his incredible intelligence and wit will be greatly missed. The world is a smaller place without Tim in it.
