David N. Silliman Obituary - Hill Funeral Home

Arrangements

Family will receive friends 10 to 11 AM, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at HILL FUNERAL HOME followed by services at 11 AM Tuesday.

When Bonnie's dad and my dad passed away a few years ago we celebrated their lives. The memories were comforting and happy. We know y'all are celebrating Dave's legacy too. Dave's times at the vacuum shop with Al still linger in our hearts. Dave loved playing golf and his strength at the driving range was professional and an inspiration to watch. I'll bet Scott has that same skill, if not at golf, in life, caring for his family
Dave's proud legacy. Rest in peace Dave. You finished the game well. Now for that 19th hole in heaven, Love Bonnie and Rocky Rokovitz
P.S. We still remember how you and Linda were the first to visit us at the Naval Base in Maryland after the birth of our first child, Christina. Y'all even traveled all the way to Key West Florida after we were transferred there in the 60's

Obituary for David N. Silliman

David N. Silliman 1942-2022

David N. Silliman

10/12/1942 - 02/09/2022

David Silliman passed away peacefully on February 9th 2022.

He was born October 12, 1942 to Donald and Geraldine(Chamberlin) Silliman in Sunbury, Ohio. David was a 1960 graduate of Big Walnut High School. He was an avid athlete and lettered in many sports including football, basketball and track and played bass drum in the concert band. He held a track record at Big Walnut high school for many years after his Graduation, but Basketball was his favorite sport. Dave had the opportunity to play basketball in college but chose to serve his country in the Navy. Upon returning from the Navy he resumed playing Basketball in various local leagues.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and infant sister, and the love of his life, Linda. Dave and Linda were married April 2, 1966 and were blessed with 36 years of marriage. They enjoyed traveling the country together and exploring new places. Dave worked for Hasbro toys, co-owned Al’s Vacuum with his brother in law, and most recently Carmen’s Vacuum. Dave and Linda moved to uptown Westerville in 1985 and developed wonderful friendships with their neighbors over the years and spent many a summer night on the porch with friends. Dave became a member of the Westerville Lions club and deeply enjoyed giving back to his community. There wasn’t anything that Dave could not figure out how to fix and he passed those talents on to his son Scott. He loved watching football with his family, especially the Buckeyes. He was an avid golfer. Dave also loved to don his Olentangy Orange Pioneer spirit wear and come to as many home games as possible to cheer on the Pioneers and his grandson Nick playing trumpet with the Marching Pioneers. Dave loved and cherished any time spent with his family and especially his 3 grandchildren. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son Scott(Andrea) Silliman and 3 loving grandchildren Samantha, Nick and Jake, along with his faithful companion at our house, Zoey, who was always by his side and will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma society or your favorite charity.
