I am sorry to read of Mary Ann's passing. I remember her from. Visits to Toledo when I was a child.My grandfather Charles Lawton was Belle's brother, Mary Ann's mother.. My brothers and I were just recently researching the Lawton family history.

Mary Ann (Roberts) Maginnity, 98, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at her residence in Westerville. She was born September 13, 1916 in Toledo, Ohio to Joseph and Isabel (Lawton) Roberts who preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Morris Maginnity in 2009 and an infant son, Joseph in 1953. Mrs. Maginnity is survived by her children, Kathleen Maginnity of Hilton, NY; Gerald (Evelyn) Maginnity of Elk Grove, CA; Brian (Ronda) Maginnity of Lima, OH; and Nora (Rod) Wilson of Columbus, OH. Other survivors are: Grandchildren, Jessica, Patrick, Paul, Anne, Joseph and April, three great grandchildren and two very good friends and generous helpers, Darcy Emery and Lisa Miller. Mary Ann was a 1935 graduate of Notre Dame Academy; 1939 graduate of DeSales College in Toledo, OH and 1940 graduate of Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. She worked as a librarian for the U.S Army during WWII in Oak Ridge, TN, with the atomic bomb project. She and Paul were married in Oak Ridge on August 10, 1948 and settled in Boston. After several moves the family returned to her native Ohio in 1959. She taught 6th grade at St. Paul School in the 1960’s. Mary Ann retired in 1982 from Upper Arlington Public Library. She was active in the Friends of the Westerville Public Library for many years. As a final act of generosity, Mary Ann has donated her body to The Ohio State University for medical research. The family requests that remembrances be made to your local library in her name. A memorial service will be held at a future date. Details will be published then.
