Margie L. Green, Age 94, Passed away peacefully on May 26 2021 at Westerwood Health Center (Formerly Friendship Village of Columbus.)  Margie was born in Decaturville, Missouri and grew up in Independence, Missouri.  She was the eldest of nine children and is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Rosie Garrett, four sisters and two brothers.  Margie is also preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Herschel R. Green, son of Dennis Green, grandson of Jeffrey Wehr and granddaughter Melissa LeFew. 

She is survived by daughter Glenna Wehr (Ted) of Westerville, son Kenneth Green (Jodie) of Reynoldsburg. Nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren with another due this September.  Also, many nieces and nephews and so many dear and good friends.  Margie was a lifetime member of Community of Christ, Grove City, Ohio.  As her children were growing up, she was a stay-at-home mother.  Afterwards, she entered the workforce and worked in retail at Fannie Farmers Chocolate and Sears. 

Margie will always be remembered for her constant and beautiful smile and was loved by all especially her church family.  Margie loved embroidery, reading, word searches and thoroughly enjoyed Bingo with all the ladies at Westerwood especially when the prize was anything chocolate.

Services for Margie will be at Hill Funeral Home, 220 S. State St., Westerville, Ohio on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 beginning at 11:30 am.  There will be visitation from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the service. Pastors James Cumming and David Orin of Community of Christ will be officiating. There will be a private burial service for family members only immediately after the service at Union Cemetery. Margie’s family wishes to extend their gratefulness, love and appreciation to all the staff members at Westerwood Health Venter for the tremendous care and love given to Margie over the last seven years of her life. They also wish to thank the nurses and staff from Capital City Hospice for their loving care and support during Margie’s final days.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Margie Green’s name and given to the Activity Fund at Westerwood Health enter, 5757 Ponderosa Dr., Columbus, OH 43231 or Capital City Hospice, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr. #170, Columbus Ohio 43231.
