IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING CALLING HOURS: Due to Covid 19, EVERYONE wishing to attend calling hours on Saturday morning,  May 22 at HILL FUNERAL HOME MUST call HILL FUNERAL HOME AT 614 882-2121 BETWEEN 8:30 AM AND 5:00 P.M. to reserve one of the 25 visiting slots per half hour at 10:00, 10:30, or 11:00 a.m. Services will follow at 11:30 a.m.  and will be live streamed on the Hill Funeral Home YouTube Channel.  The family has requested masks be worn. No reception follows.

We are so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. We have such sweet memories of you and your family when we were at Village Church, CHA and BSF together many years ago. Please know that we are praying for all of you and your adjustment to this new stage of life. Please call us if you are in the Chicago area in the Summer; or Naples, Florida in the Winter.

Douglas Doyle Eland, 74, of Westerville, Ohio passed away Friday, May 14, 2021.  He was born in Burlington, Iowa on December 26, 1946 to James Kermit Eland and Ethel Wright Eland. Doug grew up in West Alice, Wisconsin and Mediapolis, Iowa. He reached the level of Eagle Scout and attained an MBA from the University of Iowa. He was a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society. He had a sharp wit, a quick mind, and a keen sense of humor. He devoted himself to the study of God’s Word and was a strong man of faith. He was a history lover, and he greatly loved music and musicals. He was the epitome of quiet strength, a humble leader, and a steadfast supporter of others. He loved his family dearly, and was always ready to lend a helping hand, give out wise counsel, or just support those around him with a hug or a joke.

He is survived by his loving family, which includes his wife, Marla Hendricks Eland, children Matthew Hope Eland (Heather), Wesley Hendricks Eland (Stephanie) and Hannah Grace Eland, and granddaughter Natalie Ann Mason. Doug is also survived by his younger brother Bradley Hope Eland.
