Obituary for James Tharp

James C Tharp, 81 of Galena, Oh passed away January 20, 2021 at home.

Born in Columbus, OH on November 28,1939. He was a graduate of North High School in 1957. Attended Ohio State University, 32nd Degree, Northern Masonic Scottish Rite. He is a veteran - US Army and National Guard. He started his career with Phillips Petroleum Company in which he worked from 1962-1969. In 1969, he started his real estate business (Jim Tharp Realty). He served as a Blendon Township Trustee and was a Church usher at Central College Presbyterian Church. He was very involved with Golden Retriever Search and Rescue Club. He and his wife, Susie, had a horse boarding business at their home in Galena for 26 years.

James is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Susie, of 58 years, Daughter Nanci Accetta, Son Todd (Natasha) and Son Dan, as well as 6 grandchildren. Also survived by his beloved Golden Retriever, Hannah.
