Obituary for Daniel Ranke

Daniel Alfred Ranke, age 73, of Lewis Center, Ohio passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at his home with his loved ones at his side.

He is survived by his loving partner Sharon Walley; son Bruce Ranke and wife Tana Lucero-Ranke; daughter Melinda Gorenflo and husband Patrick Gorenflo and their daughters Erin and Keira Gorenflo; twin brother Dennis Ranke and wife Mickey Ranke; sister Janice Davis; and many other family and friends. Danny was predeceased by his wife of 36 years Aleta Ranke, father Alfred Ranke, mother Geraldine Ranke, and brother Mat Lee Ranke.

Danny grew up in central Ohio. He joined the United States Army and served this Country honorably during the Vietnam War. He worked for the United States Postal Service and as a plumber. Danny lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico for more than 45 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing, spending time at the lake, and traveling to visit family.

A memorial service to celebrate Danny’s life and the impact he had on so many people will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Hill Funeral Home, 220 South State Street, Westerville, Ohio 43081. Friends may gather from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. and the memorial service will commence at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Danny requested donations be made to the Veteran’s Administration.
