Robert Pegg Walcutt, age 99, of Westerville and Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, September 9, 2019 at First and Main in New Albany. He was born on March 23, 1920, in Franklin County, Ohio, to Roscoe and Marguerite (Pegg) Walcutt. He graduated from Mifflin High School and attended OSU. His college career was interrupted by WWII during which Robert served as a radar instructor for the Army Air Corps. He was employed by OSU radio station and by Thompson Electronics. For many years, Robert was employed by North American Rockwell where he served as head of the avionics division. Following his retirement from Rockwell, he pursued a new career at OCA as a forensic fire investigator (electrical expert).

Robert was a long-time member of the Church of the Messiah United Methodist Church of Westerville and more recently a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Vernon. He was a 64+ year member of Blendon Masonic Lodge #339. He enjoyed flying and piloted his own plane into his nineties. He was also an enthusiastic outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Eileen (Coe), and by his second wife, Marjorie (Woodward). Surviving are his son Charles (Harriet) Walcutt of Gretna, Nebraska; daughters, Ruth (Charles) Bright of Lancaster, Ohio; Martha (John) Wildi of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; and Mary (Michael) Sells of Delaware, Ohio, as well as five grandchildren,  four great-grandchildren and step-son, Marc (Kathryn) Woodward of Perrysburg, Ohio. Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his first wife of fifty-four years, Eileen Coe; his second wife, Marjorie Woodward; his brother, James Walcutt, and his sisters; Margaret Tucker and Elizabeth Raker.
