Obituary for Ruth E. Smith

Ruth E. Smith, 92 of Columbus, formerly of Westerville passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019.

She graduated from Elyria High School of Ohio 1n 1945. Ruth was a member of The Church of the Messiah, U.M. in Westerville and was a member and past President and Treasurer of United Methodist Women. She was also a former Girl Scout Leader for 15 years.

Preceded in death by her parents Walter H. and Sarah N. (Grubbs) Markel. Survived by her loving husband, Donald; daughters, Nancy Jean Smith and Dianne Ruth (Rick) Martin; sister Wilma J. Smith; brother Robert W. (Linda) Markel; Grandsons, Daniel S. (Sandra) Martin and Christopher (Tamera) Martin; great grandchildren, Caroline, Guy, Ashton, Kaitlyn and Noah; numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 10 to 11 AM, Thursday, July 11, 2019 at The Church of The Messiah, U.M., Westerville followed by services at 11 AM Thursday.  Interment Blendon Central Cemetery.
