Obituary for Richard Zdanis

Condolence: My deepest condolences to the Zdanis family. It was my honor to work for Dr. Zdanis in the office of the provost at JHU in the mid1970s. He was smart, he was fun, he was kind, and he was encouraging.

Condolence: I am deeply saddened to learn of Dick's passing. Serving on numerous boards and committees tasked with managing major US astronomical facilities, he was always thoughtful and wise and, with Bobbie at his side, also warm and generous. He will always be a star in my sky.

Condolence: It is with sadness that I write this note of sympathy upon the death of Dick Zdanis. He was an absolutely wonderful colleague and I thoroughly enjoyed being a Board member of Associated Universities with him. His advice was always helpful and insightful.
