Condolences

Condolence From: Rev. D. Ann Luzader, Cincinnati, Ohio
Condolence: As a relatively new wife and mother we moved to Middletown, OH in 1966. In time, after birth of youngest son, I became involved in the education team of Middletown First. Jean was a wonderful leader, teacher and encouraging person. No doubt she was the guiding light that lead me into Christian Education work in St. Clairsville, Oh at Thoburn UMC and later at Church of the Saviour in Montgomery, OH. It was there I was called into ministry as elder in 1985.
Formed by many mentors like Jean Tyler- both leader and woman- the ministry provided a joy beyond compare. We hear of angry women, Women Rights movement & marches etc. but the true measure of the abilities of women to shape faith, intelligence, service and education was embodied in Jean Tyler. Even though we have not spoken or seen one another in decades, it was always comforting she was still alive. So with this news, I already miss her. When the time comes for my final journey home, I will search for her to sit and share as she always had time to do. Blessings to her family. And thanksgiving to God for allowing the opportunity to walk briefly along side Jean Tyler in this life.

Condolence: My prayers for all of you! Jean was my first example of a female in ministry. I am thankful for her influence on my Christian Education at Middletown and serving alongside her at Worthington. She was ordained Deacon the same year I was ordained Probationary Deacon. I am thankful for the many ways our paths crossed over the years.
