Condolence From: Carol Allin, Yellow Springs, OH
Condolence: I am sending all my love to Connie, Tonya, Amy, and the grandkids---as well as to Bill, Frank, Bruce, and Jim ~ ~ ~ I didn't know Dan half as well as I'd have liked to---and most of my memories of Bruce's family members are nearly ancient history now. But, with loving thoughts, I pray for your comfort, support, and ease of grief in God's timing. It takes courage to be the family members who remain here on Earth. Please know that ALL will be healed in the great by-and-by----be patient with yourselves. Remember something beautiful and smile, let it lift your heart. ~C~

Condolence From: Bob Allmendinger, Columbus, OH
Condolence: My condolences to you all. When I first became a central office technician, in 1994, I was assigned to the Westerville office. Dan called in regularly, to work with me to repair phone service. He was unfailingly one of the most understanding, kind, calm souls I've ever worked with. Over a nearly 33 year career, I can count only a very few like him. I can still hear his voice, as if it were yesterday. Peace.

Condolence: Sonnet for My Brother Dan

You fought the first brave struggles with our dad,
A stepson heralding his right to be,
Blazing the trail, confronting him when mad;
His rage denying independency.

Thus you became a hero in my youth,
Who wrestled, did high dives, enlisted when
A war had split our country, clouding Truth
And breaking families, fathers and young men.

You showed me Love and marriage could unite,
And such a union's children could enrich,
Renew that which went wrong with what was Right,
Repair frayed marital ties with Love's tight stitch.

From our stern father's house of storm and fear,
You claimed Your Way through Life: strong, calm, and clear.

Love from Carol, Bruce, Charlie, Toby, and Elliot
