Obituary for Lusic Militaru

Lusic Militaru 1927-2022

Lusic Militaru

03/01/1927 - 07/31/2022

Lusic (Aida) Militaru, Westerville went home peacefully to be with the Lord, Sunday July 31, 2022.

Lusic was born on March 1, 1927, in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova (formerly, Moldova, Romania). She and her family later moved to Bucharest, Romania where she met her husband, Alex. Together with their two children they immigrated to the United States in 1976 and she was thankful and proud to become a United States citizen. Aida worked as a cartographer and later as a jewelry maker. Aida was a very kind and hospitable person, always welcoming visitors at her home. Earlier in her life, she loved to play classical music on the piano. She loved to knit and made many sweaters throughout the years. She also loved to play gin both with Alex and friends and was an avid reader.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alex Militaru, of 54 years of marriage. She is survived by her sister, Marzine Benlian, her children, Calin (Debra) Militaru and Monica (Gary) Dato, step-grandson, Chad Cacchio (Stacey) and great-granddaughters, Sophia and Stella.

We also want to thank the staff at The Village at Westerville and the Vitas Hospice team for providing outstanding care for Aida over the last few years.
