Obituary for Sandra Anthony

On Wednesday, January 5^th, 2022, Sandra Lynn (Zorn) Anthony, loving wife, and mom, passed away at the age of 74.

Sandy was born on April 22, 1947, in Norwalk, Ohio to Robert and Ruth (Weidemaier) Zorn.  She was a graduate of Norwalk High School and the Ohio State University where she received her master’s degree in education.  Sandy was highly involved in special education for over 35 years, teaching special education at Linden Elementary School in Columbus, Ohio, then later as a special education resource coordinator with Central Ohio Special Education Resource Center (now Educational Service Center of Central Ohio).  On August 9, 1969, she married Allan Warren Anthony of Bellevue, Ohio.  They raised 1 daughter, Amanda.

Sandy loved to garden and her house in Westerville, Ohio won a few first-place awards with Westerflora.  She loved her basset hounds and had adopted several as rescues, in all she had over 10 basset hounds in her life.  She loved vacationing every summer in Temagami, Ontario, Canada and had traveled to Italy, Spain and Mexico.  Sandy was a long-time member of the Chancel Choir at Maize Manor United Methodist Church, where she revitalized the church’s courtyard with gorgeous flower beds.  Sandy was also a longtime member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary organization for women educators.

Sandy is preceded in death by her father Robert, and her mother, Ruth.  She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Allan, of Westerville, her daughter, Amanda, of Westerville, her brother Mark (Shirlene) Zorn of Norwalk, Ohio and her nephews Adam and Trevor Zorn.

She is loved and will be missed immensely by her family and friends.  Calling hours will be Tuesday January 11 from 4:00 to 5:30 followed by a Funeral Service at 5:30 at Hill Funeral Home, 220 S. tate St., Westerville OH.  Burial will take place on Wednesday January 12 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk OH.
