IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THURSDAY CALLING HOURS: Due to Covid 19, EVERYONE wishing to attend calling hours at HILL FUNERAL HOME MUST call HILL FUNERAL HOME at 614-882-2121 between 8:30 and 5 pm to reserve one of the 25 visiting slots per half hour starting at 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Thursday, April 8, 2021. Masks are mandatory. NO EXCEPTIONS. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM, Friday, April 9, 2021 at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 Dublin Grandville Rd., New Albany, OH followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Sorry for your loss he will be missed especially when he did the music trivia at Cheryls. I worked with him in the kitchen and in frosting our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family

Steven Wayne Beres, age 66, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 2nd from complications of the COVID-19 virus.

Survived by his wife of 37 years Denise (Roesch) Beres, daughters Abbi Stecklein and Mallory (Josh) Weinmann;brother David Beres (Mark Sneath), sisters Patricia (Jim) Turner, Marcia Beres (Heidi Good), Sharon (Jeff) Walls and Amy Beres; Sister-in-law Shirley Beres; Granddaughter Charli Stecklein, Grandson Cade Weinmann; In-laws Cathy Roesch (Chris Inagawa), Terry (Betty) Caldwell, Sue (Ora) Smith, Karen (Gary) Ludwig, Nancy (Mike) Ward, Tim (Chris) Caldwell, Marybeth (Bob) Fichtelman, Tom (Terri) Caldwell and Joe Grasser; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Donna; his brothers Paul and Michael; his granddaughter Josephine Weinmann; in-laws Rachel and Byron Caldwell.

Born on Christmas Day in 1954, he attended St. Paul Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Westerville High School. Steve initially started work as a printer for Capital Business Forms, eventually being promoted to Vice President of Operations. He recently retired from Cheryl and Company. Steve loved music and could beat most people at music trivia. He enjoyed watching game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune, and loved watching sports. His wit was always at the ready with the latest joke. Steve maintained childhood to adulthood friends who all played a special role in his life.
