Patti was a true friend and a joyful soul. She was fun, smart and witty. Most of all, she was thoughtful and always doing kind things for all of her friends. She left a lasting impression on everyone she knew. Last but not least, she was the ultimate Buckeye fan. She,no doubt, will be leading the heavenly Buckeye Club.
Rest in peace dear friend. GO BUCKS

Obituary for Patricia Ehrman Knisley

Patricia Ehrman Knisley 1928-2020

Patricia Ehrman Knisley

05/11/1928 - 12/09/2020

KNISLEY, Patricia Anne, “Patti” (Ehrman), aged 92, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from Covid-19.  She was a graduate of Bexley High School in 1945, and received her Bachelor of Arts from Miami University, Oxford in 1949.  In 1954, she married her loving husband, Douglas Ehrman, settling in Berwick.  She was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church of Bexley. Patti was the longtime treasurer of Berwick Civic Association and was the Chairperson of her local polling precinct for many years.  In her free time, she played in several bridge clubs and was an avid bowler.  Patti dedicated her life to teaching kindergarten and first grade, beginning her career at Cassingham Elementary School of Bexley and retiring from Columbus City Schools in 1987. She loved to tell stories of all her former students and their accomplishments.  She was passionate about reading and always strived to teach every student to be an avid learner, even at their young age.  Patti was extremely proud of an article written about her by a former student, Bob Greene, which was published in the Wall Street Journal, titled, I Actually Thanked a Teacher. She has been described as feisty, witty, and bright-eyed. Several years after her first husband’s passing, Patti reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Scott Knisley.  The pair were married in 2000, spending their years together travelling the world and splitting their time between Upper Arlington, OH and Naples, FL. Patti is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Hazel Ruoff; her first husband Douglas Ehrman; and her second husband Scott Knisley.  She is survived by her son, Doug (Cary) Ehrman; granddaughter, Chelsea (Phil) Keselman; and grandson, Noah Ehrman. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful care given at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s in Westerville. Burial service will be held at Glen Rest Memorial Estate on Tuesday, December 15 at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  They would also like to remind everyone to be conscious and considerate of the health of others during this Covid-19 pandemic. Please stay at home, wear a mask, and remember to social distance.
