Dear Bev, Bruce and family, I was so sad to hear of your Mom's passing. She and Mom(Sarah)were some of the sweetest ladies I've ever known. She always did so much for everyone. We really enjoyed coming over for special times. She will be terribly missed but she will always be in our hearts with such fond memories. Love to you all of you. Tina

Obituary for Opal Whitt

Opal Whitt 1933-2020

Opal Whitt

05/20/1933 - 10/24/2020

Opal Whitt passed away suddenly on October 24th surrounded by her family.

She was born in Dingess, West VA. and was the second oldest of 10 children: the daughter of Alton and Nancy Booth. She became a Christian in October of 1958, after her husband, Jack, turned his life to Christ at a revival in July of 1958. She was gifted in so many ways: in hospitality, love, prayer and giving. Opal was a faithful servant of Christ who as a friend to all; gracious and with much wisdom, she lovingly gave her time to all she knew. She loved her family, her neighbors, and her church and prayed for them daily. She loved her nieces and nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews and loved entertaining and visiting with them. And there can not be a better grandmother and great- grandmother, sister, aunt or in-law: she spoiled them all and everyone thought they were her favorite. Opal had a servant’s heart and worked in food pantries, events at her beloved church, and was known for her tea parties.

She is survived by her daughter Bev (Dan) Thatcher, her son, Bruce (Debbie) Whitt, her grandaughter, Danielle (Kyle) Forsythe, grandsons: Morgan Whitt and Kai (Katie) Whitt: 4 great granchildren,:Wyatt Forsythe, Asher, Marley and Mira Whitt: 3 pastor brothers: Curtis, Arlan, and Danny Booth and 2 amazing sisters; Jewell and Gail.

People who wish to pay their last respects can attend a viewing on Wednesday, Oct 28th, at noon at Grace Chapel on Big Walnut Rd followed by a service at 1:30 pm.
