Obituary for Donna Fisher

Donna Fisher 1930-2020

Donna Fisher

10/25/1930 - 09/28/2020

Donna Fisher (Wilson), age 89, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2020, at Hospice Kobacker House.

She was born October 25, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Walter Wilson and Helen Leffue. Donna graduated from Holy Family High School in 1948 in Columbus, Ohio. She began working at Rockwell International immediately after high school, where she retired after 39 years of service. Devoted to her Catholic faith and an active member of both St. Matthias and St. Paul Catholic Churches for over 63 years.

Donna was married to the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Fisher, they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. In addition to her parents and husband, Donna is preceded in death by her sister,Martha Barney. She will be deeply missed by her two loving daughters and son-in-laws, Vicki (Shawn) Gilmore, Westerville and Lori (Brian) Shuler, Mount Vernon; along with her 5 grandchildren whom she was very proud of while attending many of their extra-curricular activities (rain, snow or shine); Justin (Lindsey), Jordan, Jake, James and Jaclyn. Beloved sister to Thelma Winks, Westerville and Sheila Barrette, San Jacinto, CA and numerous nieces and nephews that she often brought a laugh to their faces.

Donna will be lovingly remembered for her big smile, beautiful hair, sweet personality, ensuring everyone else was taken care of and never complaining. She was the strongest woman we knew and was able to remain independent while living at home. A special thanks to family friend Debbie Schmidt and neighbors Cathy and Ron for assisting with meeting this goal! After retirement Donna and Bob spent much of their time at their Apple Valley Lakehouse, babysitting the grandchildren and spending time with family. She enjoyed ceramics, watching her soap operas, decorating for holidays, cooking and of course shopping, especially QVC. She always looked forward to her monthly luncheons with her friends and attending the 4pm Mass on Saturday (so she could sleep in on Sunday) then going to dinner and chatting with her best friend and sister, Thelma.
