Obituary for Arthur S. Hedden

Arthur Stanley Hedden Jr, age 90, passed away peacefully at St. Ann’s Hospital on January 9, 2015. Born January 15, 1924, in Dover, NJ, Art grew up in Dover, attended Dover high school and Newark College of Engineering. Art is a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army and was stationed in England during the war. He was a mechanical engineer, project manager and enjoyed ten wonderful years as the proprietor of the Mayfair Resort on Lake George, NY. Art enjoyed woodworking, fixing cars and spending time with family and friends. He loved the mountains and outdoors having resided in Upstate NY, Lexington, KY, Minneapolis, MN, Fairbanks, AK, York, Pa., and Westerville, Ohio. Art is preceded in death by parents Arthur Hedden Sr. and Olga (Hansen) Hedden; and sisters, Marjorie and Virginia. Art will be dearly missed by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy (Ruege) Hedden; brother, Robert; children, Carol (Dick) Barnett, Robin (Dean) Racine, and James; grandchildren, Michael, Lisa, Jennifer, and Jacqueline; great grandchildren, Sarah and Blake. Visitation will take place Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 10-11 a.m. immediately followed by Funeral Mass, at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Charles Cotton at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 6077 Sharonwoods Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43082.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. Elizabeth/St Vincent de Paul Society c/o St. Elizabeth Church.
