Condolences

Condolence From: Larry Carr, Stony Brook, New York
Condolence: My deepest sympathies to all of Kevin's family and friends. I remember Kevin so very well from our time in graduate school at Ohio State. Though we worked in different labs (he studied under Jim Tough on the 1st floor of Smith Lab while I was with David Tanner up on the 4th), we both pursued low temperature physics (he studied superfluids while I looked at superconductors). We had many beers together then - along with Paul Sokol (now at Indiana University).
I visited Kevin at the Bitter Lab in Cambridge, and we overlapped briefly in Atlanta (I was at Emory University until late 1988). He could have told about our experience on a swamp tour following the APS March meeting in New Orleans where we managed to keep the tour boat from getting stuck in mud.
Kevin was such a great person -- I am sure he will be missed by many.

Condolence: I offer my deepest condolences to Kevin's family. Kevin had a profound impact on my life. As a former employee at MIRC, Kevin's guidance and technical insight has left a fingerprint on my career. His humility and humor touched upon me as it did for so many others who crossed his path. He will be missed.

Condolence: Kevin, you were a brilliant wit, a steady climbing partner, and a fun boyfriend. I’ve thought of you often over the decades since we met. Nobody made me laugh the way you did.
