Daddy, I miss you more than I could ever imagine. I'm so sorry I couldn't make you well. There is no one that would have wanted a better Dad growing up. We had our disagreements, but even through those I knew you would always love me and be there for me. You didn't kick me out when I brought my first kitten home and you didn't even kick the kitten out although I think you wanted to, but knew it would upset me. I slept downstairs with it that night anyways. You were always the favorite patient at the hospital, and you loved nothing more than to embarrass Mom from time to time with your comments or goofy hats. You showed us how to be honest, and faithful to God in our lives. Thank you for being the amazing Dad you were and I will continue to try to be 1/2 the person you were in this earthly life. Love you always.

Obituary for Albert Shade

Albert Shade 1933-2020

Albert Shade

Albert "Al" Shade Jr. was born July 8, 1933 in Columbus Ohio the son of Albert J. Shade and Helen E. Shade. He  passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Al served 2 years in the United States Army. He met his wife of 63 years at Nationwide Insurance. Al never met a stranger and never held a baby he couldn't rock to sleep. He was loved by all who met him and had a good word for all he met. He was quick witted and you never quite knew what he would say next. His laugh and his smile were contagious to anyone nearby. Al was an avid sports fan and loved his Buckeyes, playing softball and his years of bowling at Northern Lights. He coached for Northern Columbus Athletic Association for years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He followed Christ's example for living his life.

Al is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Rita Barnhard Shade, his son Jack Shade, daughter Lori Lynne Shade, Granddaughters Danielle Morgan and Kara (Derek) Rollyson, and Grandsons Shane Morgan and Tyler Shade, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson due October 2020.
