Condolence From: Tom Kenny, Newport Beach, California
Condolence: I was privileged to know Cam on many fronts in the last 20 years. We teamed up around 1993-1994 when I joined Dwyer-Curlett and he came on the scene with Nationwide Life. From the start it was obvious to me and the rest of my colleagues that Cam was extremely intelligent, hard working, trustworthy and competitive. He blossomed into one of the finest investment professionals in out industry. More than that, we all thought of him as a dear friend. He had a great laugh and smile. He actually joined our firm as a mortgage banker- as we say, he came over to the "dark side" and became "Camtana", as he manned our Las Vegas office. Outside the workplace, we all loved watching him bluff all in poker and rule the tables. There are great stories of Cam out on the lake, up on the ski hills and out on the golf courses. He also loved his dear wife Alicia and bragged about her skills as a teacher.

My wife Julie and I are so saddened by the loss of out great friend God bless him and Alicia

Tom

Condolence: We are stunned by the loss of our dear friend Cam and his wife Alicia. It's hard to believe it's been a year since Cam last came out to visit his childhood friend, my husband Craig. The whole family always had a fun time when he came to town. He wanted to do something every minute from the moment he got up in the morning. As soon as we would finish one activity, he would suggest another one almost immediately. He lived like he didn't want to waste a single minute, and I don't think he did. We rode bikes, lounged by the pool, skied, boated, gambled at the casinos, and went to Ohio State games together.

Cam often came to see us during business trips to California. My personal favorite time with him was sitting around one night during a visit about 13 years ago. We were listening to music on our jukebox and debating, band by band, our opinions of each one's best song and listening to one another's reasons for choosing that particular one. We usually concurred and were sometimes swayed by each others arguments, and then we would move on to the next band. We did this for hours. (There might have been some drinking involved. Cam loved his beer.)

Cam and Alicia will be remembered and missed. I am privileged to have known them and so grateful that my children have distinct memories that they will never forget. Our thoughts and prayers are with your whole family during this most difficult of times.

Cam and Alicia ~ gone but never forgotten ~ and together still.

Condolence: There comes that rare moment in life when you meet people that you knew would be your life long friends, special out of the ordinary, kind of friends. That moment happened to our family in May of 2014, when we became boat neighbors with Cam, Alicia, Dude and Gizzy. Since May, we were happy to spend almost every weekend with them, until we put our boats away in November.

When we learned the tragic news of their passing, we were heartbroken. We felt robbed that we did not get to spend more time with them. We felt cheated that we did not get to enjoy many, many, more years of friendship with them. People like Cam and Alicia don’t come along very often. We met a couple of them on our dock this year, and they were the kind friends you think of as family! Everyone loved Cam and Alicia!

We always looked forward to every weekend! We were so happy to be greeted by their smiling and happy faces. We enjoyed meals together, beers and wine together, music together; loudly, when Cam was in charge! :) We enjoyed our talks until 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning. We enjoyed laughing, crying, laughing until we cried, sharing all the stories of our lives, and talking about our future plans. We had so much fun together! We loved waking up to Cam peeking in our boat and asking who wanted to ride the Millennium with him before the park opened. We loved watching him get as excited as our kids about the roller coasters at Cedar Point. We loved watching him take our kids on those rides; he was always so very excited! Cedar Point brought the kid out in Cam!

We loved watching Cam and Alicia with our kids. They may not have had children of their own, but they were so amazing with kids. Our kids were also their friends. Cam and Alicia had no problem being wonderful friends with kids, and our kids adored them! They always made the kids laugh. I loved to watch Alicia teach our kids, who did not even realize they were learning. Alicia always told them stories, encouraged them, and played games with them. Cam would show them the tricks that Gizzy and Dude could do, ask them all kinds of questions about what they liked, praised them for their talents, and he brought out the daring side of them. They were always including our kids in everything. I would often watch my kids sitting on their boat, just hanging out with Cam, Alicia, Dude and Gizzy, and just having a good time.

We also loved to hang out with Dude and Gizzy, who were frequent visitors on our boat. We will admit, we may have given them a little more lunch meat than they were allowed, but my daughter could not get enough of all of the cool tricks they did! They were such cute, cool little dogs, and we will miss them terribly!

We will miss Cam and Alicia immensely! Cam and Alicia were adored by so many people, had so many dear friends, and they spoke so highly of their families, who they loved and adored more than anything! They had so much love and so much life to give to everyone. They loved each other, adored each other, and would often say how the fact that they were complete opposites, made them perfect together! It did! They were adorable together. They had a genuine care and love for one another that was fascinating to watch! They loved life and really did live every moment of life, enjoying it together! Cam and Alicia took advantage of every second they lived on this earth! They learned, they taught, they danced, they sang, they laughed, they traveled, they made so many friends, they did so many things, and they loved to do them together! They thought life was beautiful, and we think life is more beautiful because of them. We feel blessed to have know such beautiful people.

A day after their passing, we were sitting outside at a restaurant, near a beautiful park in Mexico City. A man came up to our table with a guitar that had “The Beatles” written on it and he began to sing, “Let it Be!”, with the most beautiful voice. The Beatles were one of Cam's favorite bands. A few minutes later, we looked up above the sign on the restaurant and saw, “Chaves” in neon lights. We saw signs of both of them within minutes of each other. Right afterward, I read this; “When you miss someone who has passed away, think of it as a blessing that you were lucky enough to have had that kind of bond that makes you miss them that much!” We felt like they were giving us that message. So we will try not to feel robbed or cheated that they are gone, but we will feel lucky to have had them in our lives, even if it was for a short time. We love you Cam and Alicia and will miss you always!

We want to send our deepest sympathy to all who loved them! Our hearts are heavy for their families and friends, and all those people they touched! You are all in our thoughts and prayers!

R.I.P. Cam, Alicia, Dude and Gizzy!

Love, Dave, Lisa, David, Megan Umina & Maisy too!
