Friends may call Monday, February 24, 2020 from 4 to 6:30 PM with Vigil Service at 6:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Westerville. Rev. Fr. David Gwinner Celebrant. Interment Cheshire Cemetery.

Maureen, I’m so very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. It’s nice to read such warm comments about him. I lost my Dennis 3 years ago so very much know what you are going through. May your life together provide you many wonderful memories to pull you through the tough times.

Dennis Woodrow Ranke went to be with his Lord on February 20, 2020 after a courageous ten-year battle with cancer. Dennis died at home in Westerville surrounded by his loving family and lifelong friends at age seventy three.

Survived by his loving wife of fifty one years, Mickey A. Ranke, only son Dennis W. Ranke Jr., grandsons Riley Mat, Jordan Jacob, Austin Myles Ranke, sister Janice Davis, nieces and nephews, and many close special friends.

He was preceded in death by twin brother Daniel Alfred Ranke, brother Mat Lee Ranke, parents Geraldine and Alfred Ranke, and special Aunt Gert and Uncle Woodie.

Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army including two tours in Viet Nam. He was a retired United States Postal Service letter carrier employee. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic church, an Indian Guide leader, a youth baseball coach and an avid Buckeye fan Dennis loved fishing, boating, golf, and woodworking. Dennis was always available for a friend or family member in need. Most of all, Dennis loved being with his wife, son, grandsons, and close friends. He was a true friend to all.

Visitation will be Monday, February 24 from 4:00-6:30 followed by a prayer vigil lead by Deacon Mickey Hawkins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N. State St., Westerville, on Tuesday at 10:30, Rev. Fr. David Gwinner Celebrant. Interment will follow at Cheshire Cemetery.

As Dennis and Mickey are raising their grandchildren, donations towards this are appreciated. A portion will be donated to St. Jude Hospitals per Dennis’ wishes.
