Condolence From: Robert and Ruth Shaw Family, Ashley, Ohio
Condolence: A man who served his state and nation was on only a fraction of the person of Robert M. Chiaramonte. He was family, a friend, mentor and role model for so many young men and women. While Bob and Evy and Bob and Ruth Shaw are no longer with us, they continue to be in our hearts and minds.

Our family was blessed to know Robert Chiaramonte for more than 73 years. Bob and Ruth Shaw considered the Ohio State Highway Patrol organization as part of our family. Bob was a leader who exemplified those values and services needed to make the world a better and safer place.

After retirement Bob Chiaramonte continue to serve in any many ways to keep the Patrol family connected. Calls and visits to former troopers and family members in their homes, nursing facilities, hospitals and/or paying respects at services was not unusual. He had a servant's heart and so many people were blessed and learned life lessons that have improved not only the individual's life but helped them learn the importance of doing with and for others.

Kim and Sandy--- You know that there are hundreds of stories and some of our fondest memories include your Dad and Mom. From your Dad babysitting with us when we were kids and in us watching the two of you grow up, we all learned a lot. We are saddened that we are unable to attend your Dad's services. Please know that we are holding you in our thoughts and prayers as you move forward.

Condolence From: Jeff Francies, Columbus, Ohio
Condolence: This was one man who cared about his officers and they respected him. I remember him coming to Holzer Hospital to visit my father retired Sgt. John Francies and when the Colonel walked into the room my father sat up at attention in his bed. This was in the late nineties and my father retired in 1980. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Condolence: A great loss to the Patrol family. Col. Bob lead the Patrol through some trying times during truck strikes, college campus unrest and prison riots. I will always remember his leadership during those times. I would follow him anywhere. May he rest in God's loving care.

Condolence: I worked for 'the Colonel" shortly after he retired from the Patrol. To this day, I believe the foundations of honesty, integrity and the 'sense of right' that he instilled in me- and all those he touched- have carried me throughout my career and my life.
Thank you Colonel. Condolences to Sandy and Kim. May he rest in peace.
