On Friday, June 14, 2019, Jack William Rupp passed away at the age of ninety-two. Jack and his wife Donna, were longtime residents of the Westerville community for the past 63 years.
Jack was born in March 1927 in Cameron, West Virginia. He was a proud graduate of West Virginia University where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Western Electric, North American Aviation, Owens Corning, Consolidated Coal, and Grumman Flxible. Jack was a member of the United States Army and a veteran of World War II.
On January 23, 1949 he married his wife, Donna. Together, they raised two sons, Bill (Barbara) Rupp and Brent (Karen) Rupp, and daughter, Tamara (Steve) Schirtzinger. Jack was the grandfather to Jacquelyn (Jozef) Rupp, Travis, Amanda (Frank) Fortunato, Cullen (Suzanne) Rupp, Wesley (Delana) Schirtzinger, Taryn (Michael) Rudy, and Aubrey (Joe) Morlan. He was also a proud great-grandfather of eight. He was predeceased by his father, William W. Rupp, mother, Lureta Rupp, and sister, Joan Danley.
Jack was an active member of the Church of Messiah and an avid follower of Christ. He had a passion for fixing up ham radios, playing golf, and watching his grandchildren’s ball games. He was known for his adventurous walks through nature while whistling a classic tune. He will be remembered by his powerful influence on all of his grandchildren and his ability to fix anything with precision. Jack was admired by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
