Family will recieve friends from 1 to 2 PM, Saturday, March 9, 2019 at HILL FUNERAL HOME where services will be held at 2 PM Saturday.

My deepest condolences to the Boyce family. I wept for Pat. All those that had the pleasure of knowing Pat loved his accent and were inspired by his drive.

He loved his family and relished in coaching. The fondest memories will remain with all those he has touched.

Patrick James Boyce of Westerville, OH, 49, passed away on March 5, 2019. Patrick was born in Port Jefferson, NY on October 11, 1969. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, coach and friend. He lived most of his life in New York, and moved with his family to Westerville in 2006.


Patrick graduated from Comsewogue High School, where he played lacrosse. He continued to play lacrosse at both CW Post University and then the State University of New York at Oneonta where he graduated in 1993.


Patrick was dedicated to his family, and to sharing his love of the sport of lacrosse with everyone, beginning with very young children. His contribution to the sport of lacrosse through coaching Olentangy’s girls and boys youth Lacrosse, Olentangy Orange High School men’s lacrosse, and Haymaker’s lacrosse will never be forgotten.


Patrick is survived by his wife Cheryl, his children Megan, Zachary and Hailey, father Thomas Boyce Jr, mother Lynn Merolla, brother Thomas Boyce III; brothers in law Michael, Ira & Josh Goldman; sisters in law Karen Boyce, Susan, Marietta & Jodi Goldman; nieces Julianna Boyce, Sara & Jessica Goldman; nephews TJ Boyce, Matthew, Adam, Alex, Justin, Tyler & Ayden Goldman. He was predeceased by his niece Brittany Marxmeyer.


In lieu of flowers, Patrick’s family would like to continue his effort to introduce the sport of lacrosse to young children and would like donations to go to
