Vernon P. Williams, 96, of Westerville, Ohio died June 10, 2018.  He was born June 11,1921 in Hancock County Ohio to Mabel and Jesse Williams and married Vesta Marie Hite September 20, 1942.

Vern is survived by 3 children: James (Wendy) Williams, Barbara Sanders, and Gary (Cheryl) Williams; 6 grandchildren: Christine (Charles) Levin, Rick (Anne) Bennett, Christopher (Jenny) Williams, Ashley (John) Chaney, Julia Sanders, and Jessica Sanders; and 6 great grandchildren; Chelsea Levin, Emily Bennett, Nathan Bennett, Wyatt Williams, Wesley Williams and John (Jack) Chaney.

He is preceded in death by his devoted wife of 74 years, Vesta Marie and daughters, Sandy Bennett and Virginia Simpson. Vern proudly served in the US Navy in World War II on the USS Endymion in the South Pacific.  After his military service, he earned his Electrical Engineering degree from Ohio Northern University and was a partner in Castle and Williams Engineering in Worthington Ohio for many years.  His great passion was Lake Erie boating and he was active for many years and ultimately the Commander of the Columbus Power Squadron. Vern and Vesta were very involved in the early years of launching WesterFlora helping to make it the successful tradition it is today.  Family and friends will  miss him tremendously.
