Dear Pat and Family,

We were sad to hear that Ernie has passed. We lived next door at 70 West Park Street for 26 years and appreciated our many connections. Our daughters, Michelle and Melissa, so enjoyed growing up in our neighborhood of which you were a crucial part. We admire the many contributions by both of you to all of us that have helped us to have a better life in Westerville, at Otterbein, and in the USA. Ernie's unique contributions to protect Inniswood Park and to the success of D-day in World War II are particularly noteworthy.
We are sad that we will leave Westerville on Friday for this entire weekend and will miss all the remembrance events for Ernie. Bless you and thank you for your lives of public service. Our prayers of gratitude go out to Pat, her family and the Westerville community family.

Bob and Mary Place,
