A celebration of his life will be held at a graveside service on Saturday, October 28th at 10:30 a.m. at Northlawn Memory Gardens in Westerville.  In lieu of flowers please consider donations in his name to a Hospice Care of your choice.

Dear family,
Al will be sadly missed. I worked with him at United McGill,and we were neighbors as well. he always had a great sense of humor. Our daughters were best friends and spent a lot of time with Al and Linda.

Al "Alvin" Funk

Al (Alvin) Funk of Westerville, passed away on Friday October 20th, 2017. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 28th, 1935. He graduated from Central High School and began his work career in heating and cooling and then as a sheet metal worker and Business Agent with the Local Union #98 and then Local Union #24. He was also a personnel director for United McGill. He is a member and Past Master of Blendon Lodge #339 of Westerville and Past Worthy Patron of Mizpah Chapter #38, Ohio Order of the Eastern Star and also enjoyed past memberships with many other Masonic affiliated organizations such as the Aladdin Shrine. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Linda Ann (Allison) Funk, Parents Dorothy and Amos Funk, brothers Phillip Funk and John Funk. He is survived by his children, Norman (Phyllis) Funk, Douglas (Debbie) Funk, Mark (Kelly) Funk, Todd Funk and Linda Allison, sister in law, Virginia Funk, Grandchildren, Michael Funk, Megan Springer, Brent (Christine) Funk, and Christopher (Melissa) Funk, many Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews, and special friends/neighbors, John and Nancy Murphy, as well as many loving and special friends too numerous to list. Al was an unforgettable character to all who knew him. He helped his family and many friends over the years and really enjoyed the simpler things of life like sitting on his patio listening to music, watching the Buckeyes & sharing stories, food and drink with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
