Friends may call 4 to 7 PM Thursday, October 26 at HILL FUNERAL HOME. A Celebration of His Life will be at 11 AM, Friday, October 27, 2017 at Westerville Community United Church of Christ.

Words, I have none, and that is rare for me... Your family is strong and it shows. Your loss is enormous. No matter how hard this is, trust in God and the blood of our Lord Jesus. That is your answer for grief. Think how joyous your reunion will be. As the song goes, I Can Only Imagine....

Robert Alan (Bob) Hall, 79 passed away October 21, 2017 at 2:30 pm at St. Ann’s Hospital after a brief illness. Born May 3, 1938 at White Cross Hospital, (now Riverside Methodist Hosp.) to Elda Mary Volpe Hall & John L. Hall Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother John L. Hall Jr., grandparents Alberigo & Maria Volpe & Several aunts & uncles.

He is survived by beloved wife of 48 years, Dorothy (Davis) Hall, brother & Sister-in-law Richard (Dick) & Terri Hall of Woodburn, Oregon, Sister-in-law Judy L. Hallman who couldn’t have loved him more if he had been her blood brother; niece Julie Ann Hall Case, nephew Jeffrey Alan Hall (Chea), great nephews  Dylan & Hayden Hall; “Sis” Arlin Pearson & “niece” Beth Pearson; special cats Peanut & Princess.  Special friends: David Desguin, Jim Logue, Fred Crowner, Jean Windesheim, Herb & Charlene Solomon, George & Marilyn Benua.

Bob graduated from Worthington High School in 1955 and graduated from The Ohio State University in spring 1968 with a B.S. in Pharmacy.  

He Served in the US Army as a pharmacist at Kimbrough Army Hospital, Fort General G. Meade, Maryland.

Bob worked at Riverside Methodist Hospital Pharmacy where he met Dorothy, R.N. , the love of his life, whom he often called “Dort”, “Babes” & “Sport”  He also worked at Nicklaus Pharmacy and various retail pharmacies around Columbus as well as an itinerant pharmacist around Ohio.

Bob served on the board of the Godman Guild for Camp Mary Orton, where he volunteered as a nature guide for children of the inner city. He was fondly called “Nature Bob”.  He enjoyed birdwatching since the 3rd grade, sharing this love  & wild flower identification with Dorothy when they were first dating.  Bob & Dorothy enjoyed traveling and seeing birds around the country and in Costa Rica & Panama. Morel mushroom hunting& fishing were other activities they enjoyed together. together.    

Bob loved getting together with his Westerville Family, (Judy, Arlin & Beth) for holidays, going to movies, playing table games and having them to his & Dorothy’s home for his homemade spaghetti dinner, celebrating birthdays, traveling to Disney World, sharing his love of wild animals and ocean creatures.

The family will welcome visitors Thursday, October 26th from 4-7 pm at Hill Funeral Home.  Rev. Dr. Jay Groat will lead The Celebration of Bob’s life at 11 am on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 at Westerville Community UCC, 770 County Line Road.
