Obituary for Charles "Chuck" Storch

Charles "Chuck" Storch 1950-2017

Charles "Chuck" Storch

02/13/1950 - 08/12/2017

Charles Thomas Storch (67), or Chuck as his friends knew him, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2017 following a yearlong illness. Chuck was raised in New Rome on the west side of Columbus with 3 brothers and a sister in a low income, strict Catholic home. In his youth, he excelled at sports, particularly basketball and football, eventually serving as captain of his teams at Bishop Ready High School. While at Bishop Ready, he met and fell in love with a cheerleader, who he would later marry and start his family. Chuck spent his career helping others as a Respiratory Therapist where he would serve 25 years as a director at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Additionally, he took great pride in becoming a Big Brother as part of the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization. He was a great husband, father, and mentor. His greatest loves in life were his wife, children, extended family, and Notre Dame. Go Irish! He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, JoAnn Storch; his daughter, Nicki Kline and her husband Drew; his son, Trent Storch and his wife Lori; his mother, Billie Storch; his sister, Sally Cook; brothers Jim and Steve Storch; two grandchildren; and many close friends. Friends may call 4 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
