Obituary for Austin Taylor

Austin Eugene Taylor age 87 passed away Tuesday July 11, 2017 at home with his best friend Sonya Fuller at his side. Born March 19th, 1930 in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was the eldest of eight children and is survived by sisters Geraldine Jordan and Barbara Crabtree both of McDermott, Ohio. A graduate of McDermott High School class of 1948, Austin moved to Columbus where he resided working as Head Baker at Omar Bakery. He belonged to the Bakery and Confectionary Union. He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2252. He enjoyed sports all his life, participating in the Omar Union basketball and baseball leagues, bowling at Swan Lanes, and held membership in the Columbus Clippers Booster Club. Cheering them on from his box seat behind the dugout. A father of six children, daughters Connie (Frank) Carroll and Sandra Cox, sons Ronald (Mary) Taylor, Gary (Karen) Taylor, stepdaughters Diane Artz and Caroline Davidson. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Monday July 17 at Hill Funeral Home 220 S. State St. Westerville, Ohio 43081. With a memorial service beginning at 2:00 pm.
