Visitation will be held at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State St. in Westerville Ohio on Friday, November 18 from 10 AM to 1130AM with a brief memorial service immediately following. I work at country view nursing home i cleaned your mom's room we became close friends i have been working there for 45yrs as a house keeper i miss her dearly and i pray for peace and comfort for the family i lost my mother in january of this year she was 97yrs old i feel your pain but they both led a long life may god give you peace like he has given me i will miss charolette but glad she is not in pain anymore god bless you and your family

Charlotte Evelyn Shafer, 91, passed away on Monday after a long illness. Charlotte graduated from Albion High School in Nebraska and after a brief stay in Omaha, moved to Dayton, Ohio where she met her future husband Clarence Shafer while working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. She spent the next 30 years working and raising a family in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Charlotte was a founding member of the Faith Lutheran church and volunteered at Interchurch Social Services. She later moved to Beaufort S.C. where she worked and retired (civilian) from the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. Preceded in death by her husband Clarence and daughter Stephanie (Porter). Survived by son Jeffry; daughter Valerie Shafer (John Hewitt); and Molly Brown (Tim); grandchildren Justin and Matthew Porter; Aaron Brown; Patrick and Jillian Hewitt; great grand daughters Kennedy and Olivia Porter.
