Dorothy Marie (Reynolds) Hall, age 90, passed away very peacefully, Wednesday evening August 3, 2016, surrounded by her adoring family. She was born December 22, 1925 to the late Thomas and Nellie Mae Reynolds, in the home her father built on Jefferson Avenue in Columbus, Ohio in 1908. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Grant Forrest Hall; brothers Kenneth, Alfred, Thomas, Garth and close nephew, Rudolf Jacks; sisters Juanita, Alice, Phyllis and Margaret. Dorothy is survived by children Stacy L. Hall, Cynthia K. Henderson (Craig) and M. Kevin Hall (Susan); grandchildren, Alex Henderson, Caitlin Henderson, Julie (Hall) Brotherton (Scott) and M. Bradley Hall (Nicole); great grandchildren Tessa, Grant and Avery Brotherton, and special friend, Ralph Cottrill. She had a poodle, Benji. Dorothy was a dental assistant and office manager in Westerville and Columbus 1954-68. She held supervisory and instructor positions at Good Samaritan Dental Clinic and Ohio State College of Dentistry, and taught Dental Assisting at Eastland Vocational Center in the late 1960’s to early 90’s, being instrumental in developing Dental Assistant Certification in Ohio. Dorothy was an author of professional publications, helping develop “A Manual of Lesson Plans for the Ohio Adult Dental Assistant Programs,” 1981. She was a member and president of many professional and private associations and was listed in both “Who’s Who in the Midwest”, 1982-83, and “Who’s Who in American Education”, 1994-95, as well as being appointed to the Central Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame 2003. In retirement Dorothy volunteered at Stratford Ecological Center as a nature guide, “Connections,” and worked at Delaware Country Senior Center (Sourcepoint) into her mid-80s. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Dorothy not only decorated cakes beautifully and did lovely flower arrangements, she was a gifted artist, working in a variety of mediums, particularly oils and water colors, painting many professional quality works. She became a lady of faith, having accepted Christ, and will be greatly missed. Friends may call 11:30 AM to 1 PM Monday at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S.
