Obituary for Eleanor R. Thompson

Eleanor R. Thompson, 84, of Westerville, went home to be with her Lord on April 22, 2016. She was born in Columbus, September 27, 1931, to the late Robert and Violet Cook. Eleanor, along with her late husband, Martin, were devoted members of the Karl Road Baptist Church. Eleanor was First Mate to Martin on the Marty-E, which they immensely enjoyed for over 30 years. She also enjoyed being with Martin and many friends at their condo in Naples, FL. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Eleanor is survived by her children Eric (Debbie) and Lydia Gilmore; three grandchildren: McKenzie (Jimmy) Strubank, Maddie and Cody; brother Neil (Dorothy) Cook and two nieces. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 27, 4 – 7 PM at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 South State Street, Westerville. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, April 28 at the funeral home. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Friendship Village of Columbus for their excellent care of Eleanor.
