Arrangements

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, March 1 from 4:30-630 p.m. at HILL FUNERAL HOME at 220 S. State St. in Westerville with a prayer service to follow, lead by Father Matthew Moriak. Funeral service will be held at St. Gregory of Nyssa, 2219 Summit Street, Columbus, OH at 10:30 a.m on Wednesday, March 2. Burial service will be held Friday, March 4 at Oakland Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA, where Tom will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Anna, with prayers led by St. Andrew's Russian Orthodox Cathedral, the place of their marriage.

Sorry to hear of Mr. Remchicks passing.
He was a regular patron at the Westerville Public Library. He was always so kind and friendly with all the staff. We will all miss his visits.

Remchick Thomas W. Remchick, 88, peacefully returned home on February 25, 2016. Tom is preceded by his beloved wife Anna, his parents Trofim and Pariskeva, his sisters Alice and Tanya, his brother John, and his cousin Pat Brooy (husband Walter). He is survived by his sister, Christine; his loving son, John (wife, Lucia); and his devoted daughter, Susan Kairis (husband, Matthew). Tom cherished his six grandchildren beyond measure, Anna, Elizabeth, Grace, and Sophia Kairis, and Olivia and Eric Remchick. He loved his cousins as siblings and is survived by Sandra (husband, Walter Rennick) and Victor Lawson (wife, Jo Anne) and all of their amazing children and grandchildren. He cherished his deep friendship with Dennis Kairis whom he considered a brother. Tom was an avid history buff, a faithful Orthodox Christian, classical music enthusiast, bird watcher and career learner. A second generation Russian American, he was raised as a chicken farmer in a rural area of New Jersey during the Great Depression, attended a one room school for his grammar school years, and attended Princeton University at the age of 16. He graduated in 1949 and was proud to be an Elm Club member and forever Tiger. He served in the Army during the Korean War, and proudly served our government for most of his life in a range of positions. He will be missed for his charming, gentle, kind manner, his deep faith and humility, and his old fashioned, respectful demeanor.
