Condolences

Condolence From: Don Browne, LaBelle, Florida
Condolence: It was sad to hear of the passing of Tom. Tom and I were band members together at Linden McKinley High School and I considered Tom one of my best friends during those three years. I remember our senior year, in 1964 when we were both featured at the Spring Concert, "dueling" on our drum sets, front and center of the auditorium stage, beating away on those sets of drum heads to the accompaniment of the Linden Concert Band. I'm sure I will always remember my friend Tom.

Condolence From: Chuck Kemerer, Lewis Center, Ohio
Condolence: I was very sorry to hear about Tom's passing. I worked with Tom in 1989-1990 at Ohio Bell Communications. I enjoyed Tom as a manager (not mine) and as a friend. He always said hi and made me feel comfortable in the work place. We always laughed. In later years, I occasionally ran into Tom around town and we always had a good conversation. Departing with a smile. Please accept my condolences. Chuck Kemerer

Condolence: Karla, I was so sad to hear about Tom, he was one of the really "good guys" @ Ohio Bell and AT&T.

Tom was very funny w/ a razor quick wit, let me share one story: a group of us were standing around on the 9th floor one afternoon and a gal (who will remain nameless) came over to us and asked if we had seen her shoes, she'd lost them? Now this gal had really big feet and Tom looked around and said: "I think they're "docked" @ that desk right over there!"

I'm sure you'll hear many more stories tomorrow. I'm out of town and will miss being there to celebrate his wonderful life.

Rest assured, Heaven is much more fun now that Tom has arrived!

Love, BB

Condolence From: Diane and John Wemlinger, Onekama, Michigan
Condolence: Dear Karla and Jennifer,

Your husband and father was one of my dearest friends as we were both growing up in Columbus, Ohio. Throughout high school and our years at OSU we were together a lot, usually it involved basketball or some other athletic endeavor. I will always remember those years like they were yesterday.

Though we grew apart during the years I was in the Army and overseas, I thought of Tom often. His spirit has always infected me with its positivity. When we reconnected again at the 40th Linden McKinley Class Reunion, all those years apart melted away and it was like we were boys again, growing up in Columbus.

Diane and I are so deeply sorry for your immeasurable loss. We plan on being there for the visitation on Sunday. May God bless you and hold you in the comfort of his undying love.

Fondly,

Diane and John Wemlinger

Condolence: Tom,

It was always such a joy to see you and Karla at our Bluffton track meets! Everyone on the team had an extra set of parents to encourage and cheer us on. I know my parents, Steve & Sue, really enjoyed getting to know you as well. My brother Bob talks about you quite a bit and cherishes the stopwatch you gave him many years ago .... he still takes it with him to all track meets!

Condolence From: Tom Gruzs, Westerville, OH
Condolence: Our heartfelt condolences to you and your family on the passing of Tom.
Tom and I crossed paths many times: playing softball at Woodward Park, taking MBA classes together at University of Dayton, sharing Chicago concerts, and sharing masses at St Paul Church. He was a true gentleman and friend. His brightness on earth will be missed.
Melissa and I will be out of town and are sorry that will miss his services.
We will keep Tom and you in our prayers.

Condolence From: Cheryl Evans Marshall, London, Ohio
Condolence: My thoughts are with your family and friends during this sad time. I'm a friend from the past. Our parents would get together to play cards which meant we came along. I remember going to see Tom in a winter band concert at Linden McKinley. As we became adults, our time together was put on hold. It looks like your family went through a long sad time before you were in God's hands.

Condolence From: Pat Mandrell, Westerville, Ohio
Condolence: Karla, Jennifer and family, Dick & I, as well as, the rest of the J.C. Manny Co. sincerely wish to extend our deepest sympathy to all of you. Tom was truly an exceptional person, great husband and wonderful dad. Our hearts break for your lost.

Karla, I know what an important person Tom was to you. He was someone you cherished and loved deeply. He truly was the center of your life and you both cared so much for each other. The last couple of years I know have been extremely difficult for you, but as always your strength shined throughout. You cared for him when he needed you most and for that I hope you can find some comfort. I know his lost will be a hard one to take, but hopefully Jennifer, the boys and your church can help you. You can always stop in to visit us during our "family lunch hour (which should be a half hour)!"
I'll see you on Sunday, God bless you and let me know if you need anything. My prayers are with you, Pat

Condolence: Our deepest condolences to all of Tom's family. As our brother-in-law's older brother, he was like family to us, too, and we remember many good times as we raised our children and then welcomed grandchildren. We always enjoyed Tom's company and shared lots of laughs and "remember whens". Tom loved and was devoted to his family. He was a good, good man, and we will miss him. The world is a little less with his passing, but we are so much more for having known him.
