Condolence From: Rob and Elaine Ludeman, Toledo, Ohio
Condolence: Elaine and I are have been back fence neighbors to Ed and Barb since 2002. I enjoyed many a discussion over that fence with Ed over our time on Glen Ellyn. He was especially patient with our dogs who liked to follow him as he walked the back yard, cut grass or cut and stacked firewood. We want to express our condolences and sadness at his passing. He was a fine man.

I must share a funny story about Ed with the family: Two summers ago on a nice sunny day I came home for lunch and let our dogs out in our back yard. As I scanned Ed's back yard I saw him laying in the middle of the grass and not moving. I quickly sprinted over to his yard with cell phone in hand ready to dial 911. As I approached him I said "Ed, are you okay?" He slowly opened his eyes and replied "Hi Rob. Yes I am fine. It is such a beautiful day and I felt a little tired so I thought I would just lay in the grass and take a nap." We both had a good laugh over that one.

I miss seeing him and talking. Rob Ludeman

Condolence From: Bruce & Jean MacDonald, PERRYSBURG, Oh
Condolence: To Ed's Family & Friends,

Jean and I were so sad to hear of Ed's passing. May God be with his Family and Friends during this difficult time.

I was privileged to have met Ed at the Maumee River Yacht Club during one of our many volunteer work projects. Ed was always quick to volunteer his labor and skills whenever needed by the Club. Over the years we formed a great team working around the Club. With his knowledge, skills and never ending smile he contributed to making long, hard work hours fly quickly. With Ed, there were no strangers and he was quick to greet new members and offer his assistance and knowledge whenever needed. We will miss our friend greatly.

We are all the poorer for his passing, the wiser for his engagement and blessed for the memories he gave us along the way.

May God welcome him and embrace him in HIS loving arms.

Condolence From: Mary and Tom Ensman, Toledo, Ohio
Condolence: Dear Reifeis Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. As neighbors of Ed's for the last 17 years, we have many fond memories of Ed. He was so proud to be so vital for so long. One time about 4 years ago, he offered to help clear the leaves from our lawn, and using the leaf blower he rounded up all the leaves in no time. He was extraordinarily patient with mechanical things that needed fixing and was very often successful doing so. There are more stories, but hope to share those on April 9th. In the meantime, our deepest condolences to all of you.

Condolence: Ed was my neighbor on Holly Hill. He was always so nice when I would see him in his yard working! I will miss him a lot. 89 is a good lifetime. I hope he rests in peace and I hope his family takes comfort in their memories of him. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for any of you. I am in the house on the corner.

Condolence From: Barbara & Jim Rose, Toledo, Ohio
Condolence: Kids, we were so sorry to read of your Dad's death. What wonderful memories were brought back. We had a card from him at Christmas. We played lots of bridge in your family room and had some great times. He was also Jim's boss at Champion and they both lost their job on the same day. I sent Marilyn Knopp an email. We may be able to see you on the 9th. We will keep all of you in our prayers. Stay close.
