James W. Gore, 73, of Westerville, passed away November 4, 2015 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital. Jim was a longtime Westerville resident graduating from Westerville North High School. He earned a BS degree from Park University, his MBA from Central Michigan University; and also attended Capital University, College of Law. He was a member of The Ohio State University Judo Club obtaining a black belt. He retired from the United States Air Force after serving four campaigns in the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Vietnam service medal with one four oak leaf clusters; National defense service medal; Vietnam service medal with one silver star; AF Presidential unit citation award; AF outstanding unit award; Republic of Vietnam gallantry cross with palm; Republic of Vietnam campaign medal; and AF good conduct metal with four oak leaf clusters. Jim was an outdoors man who loved hunting and fishing. Proceeded in death by parents, Harold and Thelma Lowery; brother, Paul Gore; son, Anthony J. Gore, and many beloved pets. Survived by wife Linda; son, James H.(Noy) Gore of Columbus; step daughter, Maria (Donald)Tucker of Westerville; and three grandchildren; Christopher Tucker, Cpl. Adam Tucker (USMC), and Mali Gore; and dear friend Fred Smith. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6pm on Monday November 9th at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State St., Westerville.
