Condolence: John had the sincerity, smile & laughter that caught my attention at the original Pyramid Club, at Livingston & Grant 28 yrs ago. It was always a pleasure to run into him at Central Office on E Broad St and anywhere else. He is an excellent role model, on Earth as well as Heaven....God Bless you Johnny....

Condolence: Into my heart's treasury
I slipped a coin
That time could not take
nor a thief purloin
O' better than the mounting
of a gold crowned king
Is the memory of a lovely thing.
John gave a lot of happiness to a lot of people. I am saddened to hear of him no longer being a part of our earth plane. He will be missed by many and held in the heart of those whom he touched in this life. I knew Johnny when we were young in sobriety and loved him for who his own beautiful spirit. he, David and I trudged that road to happiness. Separated we have gone our ways - but, nothing can remove the spirit bond that we shared. May all of his family and loved ones find comfort in knowing that John helped many and, I will always believe, continued to be true to his self.

Condolence: So sad to hear of the loss of Johnny Gilmore. My thoughts are with his family. I have a piece of yellowed paper that John wrote over 20 years ago with W. Benton's poem on it. These words from that poem ring true to me still: "I need love more than hope or money, wisdom or a drink." Thank you, John, for helping me to change my life.

Condolence: John was an amazing individual.....loving, kind, helpful.....and serious about his passion > working with other Veterans about their addictions. I was so saddened for the enormous earthly loss of John. Please know that I continue to wrap all his extended family in prayers these difficult hours & days. We know your great loss is an even greater gain in Heaven, because of his faith & ours, in Jesus eternal promises! We can allow time & emotion to embrace grief, as we know, on earth Jesus wept at the loss of loved ones. He will walk with you, understand every tear and wrenching pain for your loss and not question our abiding faith that one sweet day you will see John again. Oh, what a comfort blessing that is, in your deepest times of grief.
