Susan’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at Hill Funeral Home, 220 South State Street, Westerville. Her funeral service is Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Ruth Pribe officiating. Burial to follow at Maple’s Grove Cemetery, Alexandria.

Susan Liane Watson, age 53 of Dublin, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the OSU James Cancer Center. She was born June 28, 1961 in Grove City, OH to Jack L. and Norma Jane (Vulgamore) Ott. Susan graduated from West High School in 1979. She was a loving and generous wife to Brandon Watson. She was also a sister, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed until we are reunited in the presence of the Lord. Susan had a fulfilling career in technology. Her career began at Ohio EPA where she worked in the Information Technology department. She developed her career at contractor companies before she moved on to Alliance Data Systems where she worked as a database manager and lastly Cardinal Health where she was a director of information technology. In addition, Susan held several professional certifications. She had been an active member of Independent Oracle Users Group and Ohio Oracle Users Group and a former president of Teradata Partners Steering Committee. She was an active participant of STEM and CoolTechGirls. Susan was a lifelong advocate of women’s awareness and advancement in the science and technology fields. Susan’s passions included traveling, camping and boating. She loved to read and learn new things. She collected shoes and enjoyed visiting wineries. One of Susan’s most favorite things was spending time with her family and friends. Susan is survived by her husband, Brandon Watson; children Paul Adam (Megan) McDowell, Michael D. (Meghan) McKenzie, Trista L. (Jeremy) Sanchez, Sydney M. McClain, grandchildren; Adrian, Natalie, Isaiah and Elizabeth (Elle); brother David C. (Christine) Ott; nieces and nephews Steven Ott, Jessica Medina, Sarah Steinhauser; step-daughter Sarah (Graham) Chaffin; father and mother in-law James Robert and Elizabeth Dianne Watson; brother-in-law Brian (Mary) Watson; Bruce (Patty) Watson; Brent (Danielle); sister-in-law Barrilynn (James) Sheppard, many nieces and nephews and her beloved Tabby cat. Susan is preceded in death by her father and mother Jack L. and Norma Jane (Vulgamore) Ott as well as brothers Stephen and Michael. Susan’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at Hill Funeral Home, 220 South State Street, Westerville.
