Obituary for James "Bernie" Burnheimer

James "Bernie" Burnheimer 1953-2021

James "Bernie" Burnheimer

08/29/1953 - 12/14/2021

James “Bernie” Burnheimer, 68, of Westerville, Ohio passed away on December 14, 2021. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 29, 1953 to James and Josephine (Mornin) Burnheimer. Bernie was preceded in death by both his Mother and Father.

Bernie was retired from the City of Columbus Water Division and spent many of his retirement days following all of his favorite sports teams: The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bearcats,  and of course, the Detroit Tigers. His love of geography was expressed through his desire to visit all the National Parks and his love of nature. He was always planning for the next vacation.  Everyone that knew him appreciated his passion for knowledge and facts. He had a memory like no other. He will be remembered for his irrepressible, hope-filled spirit, his see-the-best-in-others perspective, and his humor, oh the humor!!

Bernie will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 35 years, Shari Burnheimer, his sons Danny (Stephanie) Burnheimer, Joey Burnheimer, grandson Parker Burnheimer, many in-laws, nieces and nephews and many many friends.
