Arrangements

Funeral Services will be on Friday, June 4 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior at Hill Funeral Home, 220 S. State St., Westerville.  There will be a luncheon directly after the service at Peace Lutheran Church.

I consider John a very special friend and he will be missed. I first met John in Kuwait. We have been good friends for over 35 years and enjoyed good times on the golf course and his attendance at our children's weddings in Maryland. May god now open the doors for his place in heaven.

John Worth McBee was born in Sully, West Virginia May 1, 1925 to John Woodbridge and Phoebe Jane White McBee.  John was a Civil Engineer graduate of Davis and Elkins College in Elkins West Virginia.  He held degrees from numerous colleges across the United States. 

He was Federal Highway Administrator for the State of Ohio and the State of West Virginia and Regional Manager for highways in Kuwait until his retirement.

John is survived by wife Norma Olofson Sanders, Brenda McBee.  He was formerly married to Evelyn (Peg) Swecker McBee until her death in 1992.

John is survived by son Michael (Jodelle) McBee and 4 grandchildren: Jennifer (Nate) Howe, Jodi (Daniel) McManaway, Daniel (Ann) McBee and Morgan (Adam) VanDaalwyk and 2 great grandchildren: Wesley McManaway and Owen Howe. 

John is survived by 4 step children: Clint (Barb) Sanders, Lisa (Michael deceased) Giles, Kathleen (Tim) McKindles and Jim (Traci) Sanders, 2 deceased step daughters : Melanie Sanders Coachman and Cari Sanders Bernhart; 12 step grandchildren and 6 step great grand-children.

John is survived by one sister: Maxine Hershon and three brothers: Kenneth (Sandra) McBee, George (Jeanette deceased) McBee and Jamesa (Cheryl) McBee and several nieces and nephews.

John loved to play golf with special friends Dick Jolly and Ed Ross.  

He liked to dance and never tired and gave every lady a whirl on the dance floor.  He will be missed. 

John was a Navy veteran honorably discharged in 1946.
